About ‘Me’
Hello and welcome on my blog.
This is me:
Yes, I’m a picture, pixels on a screen. Even crazier yet, I am your screen.
You’re probably thinking; “This guy is totally bonkers.”.
And I completely agree. I am out of my mind. But I wasn’t kidding.
Okay, maybe just a little bit.
The thing is if I would introduce myself as the man in the picture, then I would be telling you a lie. Because first of all, I’m not the picture or even the man on it. I’m not saying it isn’t a photo of me, because it is. But the man in the picture is my so called body, which is not me either.
“Alright, so if you’re not the body, you’re the mind?”
No, we’re getting closer though, but that’s also not me.
“Okay, I’m tired of this. Who are you really?”
Well, I am You.
“That’s it. I heard enough bull**** for today. I’m out of here.”
My apologies, it’s just the only way to be honest with you. We might just have a totally different point of view on who we are. If I were to talk to you in common sense, I am the man you see in the picture and my name is Stef.
But I assure you that Stef is nothing but a mask. It’s actually Me acting something that I’m not.
Yeah, you’re right. Let’s slow down for a little bit. Don’t worry though, I won’t give you another headache, for now.
Let’s just pretend that when I say ‘I’, I mean me in the common sense of the word.
I am Stef, a 25 year old aspiring writer and blogger. I was born in the Netherlands and I have lived here for most of my life. I’ve also lived in Austria for a while and travelled around in parts of Asia.
In my reasonably short life I’ve dealt with depression, extremely low self-esteem and a 5 year addiction to weed.
Nowadays though, not a day goes by in which I’m not laughing. Not a day goes by in which I’m not enjoying the entirety of this beautiful experience we call life.
I’ve struggled with plenty of things and I’m sure there are plenty of challenges ahead, but I learned there’s no challenge one cannot overcome. There is light even in the darkest of places.
And that light is You.
Yes, You!
Because that which you are, deep deep down, is simply the fabric and structure of Existence itself. You are the Source, or more commonly known as God.
So this blog basically is in honour of You. Every word that I’m writing is a thanks for making it possible to have such a beautiful experience on Earth.
My most common character trait is that I can only see with my left eye. I’ve been blind with my right one for as long as I can remember.
Hence came forth my nickname; Cyclope Steve.
On this blog I will take you along on my magical journey through life. I will tell you about my adventures, insights and travels. And how I was brought from the darkness to the humbling and blinding light of God.
If you’re put off by the word God, replace it with a word that works for you. Because in my eye God is not what is commonly thought about Him. So for now, simply replace the word. In my posts I will clarify what God is to me and you will probably find that it has a lot in common with how we describe the world scientifically.
